Why do we need to see documents?
It is a legal requirement for anyone producing numberplates to view original documents that can be used to:
Prove identity (Name & Address)
Prove the ownership of the numberplates

Are you registered with the DVLA?
Yes we are. It is illegal for anyone to produce numberplates without being registered with the DVLA. Plateologist is fully registered with the DVLA
What are your delivery time?
We aim to process and dispatch your orders within 24hrs of receiving your documents. Our free delivery is tracked and takes 2-3 days from when we dispatch your plates. We also offer next day delivery.
Are 4D plates legal?
The 4D plates are legal and conform to all rules set out by the DVLA. DVLA state that 'Characters on the plate can be 3D'. The black acrylic letters are specifically cut in the number plate font (Charles Wright font) and are manufactured in line with British standards for number plates
Can you supply screws?
Yes, we can supply screws. Please let us know when you place an order. However, we recommend sticky pads.
Do the names on the ID/proof of address and entitlement document need to match?
The law permits the purchase of number plates as a gift, so the names do not need to match on both documents. You can use your own ID, and the entitlement certificate belonging to a family member or friend to purchase number plates from us.
How do you ensure quality?
All of our plates are handmade with precision and care. We quality check all of our plates prior to shipping.
Do my plates have a warranty?
All plates come with a 3-month warranty. This covers you for ‘tunnelling’ where the reflective part of the number plate gets water behind and separates from the acrylic. Our warranty policy also covers you for any de-lamination of the letters. If you drill the plates, then the warranty will be invalid.
Can you print a custom company design?
We can print company logo on plates, provided that you provide us with the logo you would want in a .PNG file. The logo will be of black and white colour.
Please note that this not legal and that plates will be classed as 'show plates'
